Lenexa was founded in 1869, and this strategically planned city, located only 12 miles south of Kansas City proper, is home to a number of local, national and international business headquarters.

Area shopping options include the Oak Park Mall, a thriving indoor shopping center with several mid-priced and high-end chain stores as well as a few locally owned retailers. Public transportation via The JO provides commuting routes into Kansas City on weekdays as well as community service routes to sporting events and other nearby attractions.
